 Abstract:  James A. Paisley (1866-1932) was a Cleveland, Ohio coal and steamship magnate whose company, the Valley Camp Coal Company, comprised twenty-four separate companies, including the James A. Paisley Steamship Company, J.A. Paisley Oil Company, and Morrow Steamship Company. He also organized the J.A. Paisley Company to manage his holdings, of which his wife and seven children were shareholders and ran the company following his death. The collection consists of correspondence, financial reports, shipping records, estate settlement materials, and photographs.
